Whisky Akashi Blended Sherry Cask Finish
500ml BOTTLE
Akashi Blended Sherry Cask Finish is one of several blended whisky that the few Japanese distilleries produce, with unmistakable Japanese elegance for the details and for an extremely pleasant palate and suitable for every enthusiast, from the novice to the expert. Akashi is a distillery belonging to the White Oak group and until 2007 it only contributed to the production of blended whisky to support the distillation and production of Sake and Shochu.
After realizing the excellent quality of the whisky of Akashi, the owners have decided to allocate part of the production to the distillation of whisky which today also comes in Single Malt format. This Akashi Blended Sherry Cask Finish is peculiar because the double distillation takes place in traditional stills which, however, are only used for a couple of months each year, reducing the amount of whisky product and making each batch different from the others. The refinement is intended for traditional ex Bourbon barrels for a period of three or four years before a final passage of a few months in ex Sherry barrels, to give greater character and elegance to the whisky.
