The Blair Athol distillery was born in the village of Pitlochry, in Perthshire. 1798 by John Stewart and Robert Robertson under the name "Aldour", a name that derives from the source of water used by Blair Athol, the Allt Dour, which flows through the grounds from the slopes of Ben Vrackie.
