Whiskey Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye 80 Proof
BOTTLE NOT CARTONED 700ml
Catoctin Creek is the first legal distillery in Loudoun County after Prohibition: Becky and Scott Harris started the project in 2009 to highlight the whiskey of Virginia. The name Catoctin comes from the Indian tribal name "Kittocton" which meant "place of many deer" and the distillery's goal is to produce whiskey zero kilometre, i.e. with all the raw materials coming directly from the properties of the distillery or from nearby, to keep the bond with the territory even stronger.
To date, the whiskey of Catoctin Creek is available in a limited number of references, among which this Roundstone 80 Proof is certainly the largest in terms of bottles produced, although these are still much lower numbers than other distilleries in the United States. A small production coming from rye produced directly from the distillery, with a pre-Prohibition style, all with an adequate alcohol content for every type of palate, especially for those who want to deepen the whiskey of Virginia and the whiskey stars and stripes.
TASTE: Soft and polite, with notes of honey and ripe fruit, cereals and spices.
AGING: Virgin American oak charred barrels.
