Catoctin Creek Distillery was founded by Beth and Scott Harris in 2009 and is the first Loudoun County distillery to receive a distilling license since Prohibition. Many decades have passed since that dark period and the goal of the Harrises is to bring back to life the spirit of the early twentieth century, however adding the quality of the raw materials that come from a very short distance and from the care in the distillation, which today can be essential for obtaining a high standard of quality whiskey final.
Since 2009, the Harrises have set up a very ambitious project to recover a certain type of taste in the whiskeyobviously with the help of the development of technology and the expertise of Becky, chemical engineer and distillation manager. The distillery also produces gin and fruit brandy, thanks to Becky's ability to translate any raw material into a distillate.
