Planas Diplomatic Rum

The Diplomatico Planas rum, named after Planas Valley, is a white rum produced from molasses and sugar cane honeys. In the territory of Venezuela also white rum must have a minimum of two years of aging, leading companies to choose whether to age the distillate in steel barrels or in wooden barrels. When aging takes place in wooden barrels the color tends to become darker and it is therefore necessary to bring it back to the original crystalline color. In the case of the Diplomatico Planas rum the company has taken into consideration the aging method in wooden barrels. For the distillation different techniques are used such as column or stills. 

Once the base product has been created, it can be aged for 6 years in wooden barrels for Planas rum. An important maturation time for a white rum which, after its filtration, fails to return to its crystalline base color but remains slightly opaque. So once again the Diplomatico company amazes us with a product outside the box, with an impressive aromatic breadth, making its taste pleasant while recalling all the natural aromas of sugar cane. 

TASTE: Definitely complex and rich with aromas that tend towards chocolate and sweet spices, notes of white flowers also stand out. A very satisfying, full, long sip.
