Rum Don Papa Baroko

700ml BOTTLE

Don Papa Rum Baroko is part of the new Don Papa range. This distillate wants to demonstrate, also through its new packaging, the luxuriant style of this rum. The original and very interesting taste comes from its important raw material, namely the "Black Gold" molasses, which is the result of the meticulous and intense grinding of the fine sugar cane of Negros Island in the Philippines. The vast cultivation of this specific variety of sugar cane is located on the slope of the Kanlaon volcano in the center of the archipelago and is nicknamed Sugarlandia.

Rum Don Papa Baroko, like all rums of the distillery, is aged in oak barrels and aged in the perfectly humid and tropical climate of the island. The distillation of molasses takes place with a particular column method studied by Bago Distillery to create perfect products, with vibrant characteristics and aromas.

TASTE: intense with a remarkable structure. On the palate there are spicy, warm and toasted notes. The citrus notes manage to balance the sweet taste of vanilla and honey without making the finish cloying.

AGING: in ex-bourbon American oak barrels

ADDITIONAL DETAILS ON DON PAPA BAROKO RUM

Don Papa Baroko is a new introduction into the world of Don Papa, a recent step that the distillery has made after having achieved several important global objectives in terms of recognisability: it is impossible today to go around any city in the world and not come across one of these bottles, thanks to the widespread work of distribution and awareness of this brand. Don Papa Baroko wants to be an addition to the classic Don Papa rum with a sort of mono-origin regarding the raw material, namely the island of Negros in the Philippines.

Don Papa's rum has established itself in the world and made the Philippines the third country in the world in terms of rum consumption, with the image of Don Papa Isio, a legendary figure in the local revolutionary history of the 1900s. Don Papa Isio was in fact the advocate of the liberation of the island of Negros from the Spanish conquerors who were enriching themselves behind the hard work of the local population, in a place where agriculture is still important. So how can we not give voice to this Don Papa by creating a line of products in honor of him? The distillery is also succeeding in the task of involving the surrounding community as a workforce and as raw material suppliers, also giving space to the micro diversities of sugar cane, obtaining various types of molasses to be mixed into original recipes and then distilled.

The refinement is entirely entrusted to tropical temperatures with a percentage of annual evaporation of the alcohol well above the European threshold, making it more difficult to have long but more concentrated maturations, also making it necessary to carry out daily and meticulous checks on the existing barrels to avoid a excessive contribution of wood to the distillate. Don Papa is now evolving for its second declination: thanks to its global success, the range is expanding with increasingly interesting nuances of this magnificent rum from the Philippines.
