Dunville & Co.
The history of Dunville & Co has its roots in the Irish city of Belfast, when William Napier and John Dunvill founded a company to trade spirits in 1808. After years the company expands and John Dunvill (later Dunville), acquires the shares of his partner in 1825, the name changes to Dunville and Company.
With the construction of "The Royal Irish Distilleries" in 1869, Dunville & Co. began producing around 2,5 million whisky per year, which are used to create two of the most famous Irish Whiskey, the Three Crown and the Very Rare. Regarded as Ireland's most modern distillery, the facility consisted of four large malting floors, 16 washbacks, five massive stills and a Coffey still. In 1936 the company went into liquidation and "The Spirit of Belfast" ceased production.
In 2013 the owner of the Irish distillery Echlinville, Shane Brainff, takes over the brand and brings back Dunville's Irish Whiskey. The range includes the Irish whiskey Three Crown and 1808, and the Single Malt Very Rare.
