Few Spirits
Few Spirits was founded in 2011 by Paul Hletko. The distillery is located in the Chicago suburbs of Evanston, Illinois. The name Few, it is taken from the initials of Frances Elizabeth Willard, a very important figure, who made Evanston the home of the Christian Temperance Union for women, allowing universal suffrage in the USA. Paradoxically, Frances was a staunch supporter of Prohibition and was one of many who helped ensure Evanston remained an alcohol-free city from 1855 until 1972, ndespite the end of Prohibition in 1933.
Few is America's fastest growing craft distillery today. Produces whiskey pre-Prohibition style with a distinctive spicy note due to the large amount of rye used. The production is "grain to glass", ie each step, from the cultivation of the raw material to the bottling, is carried out near the distillery.
