Islay Mist
Islay Mist was born on the Isle of Islay in 1922 to celebrate the 21st birthday of the son (later Lord Margadale) of the Laird of Islay House in 1927. It was thought that the Single Malt of Laphroaig was too strong and difficult for the tastes of the guests, this fantastic blend of Laphroaig malts was created for this combined with a variety of high quality Scottish Highland malts including Glenlivet and then balanced with whisky of Lowland wheat. The new blend was so successful that it was decided to market it under the name of Islay Mist, a Blended Scotch Whisky worthy of great consideration.
The seal of the Lords of the Isles, the Great Seal of Islay, is proudly stamped on every bottle of Islay Mist.
Islay Mist is produced today thanks to MacDuff International, one of the few companies producing Scotch Whisky remained independent, which remains faithful to the original peated blend with the characteristic smoky and peaty tones well balanced with the malty sweetness of the oak.
