Longmorn Distillery was founded in 1893 by John Duff, in the heart of Speyside, but after a few years he was forced to sell due to debt. It is said that Masetaka Taketsuru, founder of the Japanese Nikka distillery, worked in Longmorn for some time during the 20s and became so passionate about it that he tried to reproduce the shapes of distillation stills at home.

Il whisky by Longmorn is appreciated for its important personality but is mostly intended for the construction of various blends, leaving little room to be able to savor this whisky in purity: in addition to various releases from independent bottlers, since 1993 Pernod Ricard has offered some official bottlings.
