Mars Komagatake The Revival 2011 represents the rebirth for this Japanese distillery, after two decades of closure and on the occasion of the great worldwide rediscovery of whisky Japanese. The story begins in 1872 with the Hombo Shozu distillery founded to produce shochu and in 1985 partly converted to a distillery of whisky, following a discreet interest in this distillate. After a few years, however, the distillery was closed and remained silent from 1992 until 2011, the year of reopening and distillation of this whisky which therefore represents the resumption of activities and the sale of bottles of the new course of Mars Komagatake.

Released on August 6, 2014, this whisky it matures for three years in ex Bourbon oak casks before being put on the market in a limited edition of only 6000 bottles.

TASTE: Intense and spicy, cocoa beans and ripe fruit, vanilla and caramel.

AGING: American ex Bourbon oak barrels.
