In addition, the Land of the Rising Sun loves the whisky to the point of making it a special ingredient at every banquet and important dinner, perhaps by diluting it with water to make it tameable even for those who don't know about it. There are not many Japanese distilleries and some have been built (or rebuilt) in recent years, precisely to meet the ever-increasing demand for whisky Japanese: Mars is one of them, having had to close the plant once and being able to open a second time.
