Mars Tsunuki Peated is a whisky peated Japanese distillery created at the Tsunuki distillery, or the second born in the Mars house, the group that controls Shinshu and, indeed, Tsunuki. The peculiarity of this malt is obviously the peat which, to make no mistake, is created directly in Scotland thanks to the purchase of peated barley malt born and grown in the realm of peat, then giving way to the Tsunuki distillery in the task of distilling and especially sharpen. The scheme of the two distilleries is not new in Japan and this Mars Tsunuki Peated represents the most incisive and direct face of the whisky of the Mars group, being able to count on a recent construction of 2016 with the characteristics suitable for the role of whisky muscular, intense, organoleptically important. The selection of barrels fell on whisky distilled in 2016 and 2017, with an aging in ex bourbon oak barrels and a limited edition of only 14.830 bottles, also maintaining an alcohol content above the average of 50 degrees.
