Rum Matusalem 7 Year Old Solera Method
BOTTLE NOT CARTONED 700ml
Matusalem 7 Year Old Solera Method is known for its excellent quality, traditional Cuban style and rum heritage.
The history of Matusalem rum dates back to the late 1800s in Cuba, with the Camp family introducing their style of Cuban rum to this picturesque city by presenting it as a rum that never dies just like the patriarch Methuselah. The great potential of Cuba, namely that of being a city where parties and many tourists are the masters, made the task of knowing Matusalem rum very simple. Matusalem rum also went beyond the era of prohibition by postponing the most loved and drunk distillate by the population.
Its strong point has certainly been the production method and its aging that have made it soft and pleasant. The production process begins with the highest quality molasses extracted from the sugar cane of the Dominican Republic. At the end of the distillation we arrive at the time of aging which takes place for the Solera Method. The Matusalem rums were the first spirits to be aged with this particular system to create a balanced, soft and pleasant rum. The toasting of the oak barrels gives intense aromas and spicy nuances. These characteristics can be found in the Matusalem 7 Year Old which, although one of the youngest Matusalem products, expresses all its aromatic notes to perfection.
A great balance, a harmony between returns of sweet spices and toasted notes, complex aromas of candied fruit, toffee and citrus fruits makes this distillate versatile and also suitable to drink straight or with ice.
As soon as rum production began, inside the factory, swallows began to nest, which have always been considered a symbol of elegance and freedom. The Camp family took this auspicious phenomenon and used the image of this swallow with a cartouche in its beak with the words "marca de fabrica" on the label of all spirits as its trademark.
