700ml BOTTLE
This whisky Japanese is a symbol of distillation in Japan: Nikka is in fact one of the most important companies in Japan when it comes to whisky, and Taketsuru is the surname of Masataka, godfather of Japanese distillation. In fact, Taketsuru studied in Scotland in the 20s, becoming something of an insider and marrying a Scottish girl, Rita. After a few years Taketsuru and his wife returned to Japan and the man began to think about developing a 100% Japanese distillation company, while basing his experience on the Scottish preparation.
Taketsuru founded the first of two distilleries by the sea, in the Scottish style, Yoichi, and then opened another on a mountain, Miyagikyo, exploiting the dual coastal and altitude soul. This Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt represents the quintessence of Nikka's will in distillation, or rather the union between the two distilleries of the Nikka group: the age indication has been removed as the recent request for whisky Japanese has soared going to minimize the amount of whisky in warehouses.
Refinement is still important, however, honoring Taketsuru's spirit. Taketsuru is a prestigious signature because it reminds us of the pioneer of whisky Japanese, the one who - in the darkness of the First World War - managed to convince some Scots to take him through the distillation stages to understand all its secrets. The Scottish people are certainly not known for immediate affability, yet Taketsuru has built an exemplary reliability and in a few years has become a Scottish by choice, also counting on his native wife Rita.
