Blended Malt Scotch Whisky crafted by Whyte and Mackay's Master Blender, Richard "The Nose" Patterson, using the finest Single Malt from the Scottish Highlands. Shackleton Whisky was created to pay homage to Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton, legendary commander of the "Nimrod" expedition in the ice of the South Pole between 1907 and 1909. 100 years later, Whyte & Mackay's, owner of the ancient Mackinlay's distilleries, commissioned a group of researchers New Zealanders of the Antarctic Heritage Trust to recover some crates of Mackinlay's Rare Old Highland Paint leave duringto shipment in Antarctica. Thanks to the 11 bottles found, Paterson was able to create this Blended Malt with a rich and decisive style.
TASTE: Notes of dark sugar, sweet dried fruit and pineapple; in the final mulled wine, chocolate and a pinch of smoke.
