Whisky Stauning Bastard
BOTTLE NOT CARTONED 700ml
Stauning Bastard is one of the rare opportunities to taste a whisky produced in Denmark by Stauning, a recently built distillery but already prodigal of particular bottlings. The foundation of this distillery took place in 2005 in a small village in Denmark and the founder, a strong connoisseur of whisky, has embarked on this onerous career also trying to exploit excellent quality raw materials and, if possible, close to the distillery headquarters, following the KM0 philosophy which today more than ever is felt as urgent all over the world.
The bottle in question - Stauning Bastard - represents a real gamble: the whisky it is made from rye and is distilled twice before aging for three years in virgin American oak barrels and a final six months in barrels that previously contained Mezcal directly from Mexico. An artisan distillery that does not filter the final product but simply lowers its alcohol content with water to reach the proposed value.
TASTE: Always on the spicy vein with various shades, then ripe fruit and honey. Herbaceous hints.
