Tamdhu
Tamdhu is a distillery founded in 1897 on the banks of the River Spey, and precisely in Knockando, a small town in central-eastern Scotland; the name is of Gaelic origin and means "Little dark hill".
From the beginning, the goal was to produce the best whisky possible and to be able to produce large quantities. In addition to the use in the most prestigious blends of Scotland, the attention to the quality of this distillery has however given life to an appreciated Single Malt Scotch Whisky, which over the years has become a "niche" single malt, highly appreciated by connoisseurs even if little known by the general public.
This being away from the spotlight despite the exceptional quality of the product unfortunately caused the closure of the distillery in 2010, only to see its reopening two years later by an independent consortium. Today Tamdhu is once again on the crest of the wave, renewed in the design of its bottlings, but always characterized by extreme attention to quality.
