Tamnavulin
The name Tamnavulin comes from Gaelic and translates as "mill on the hill" and is inspired bylthe historic former carding mill, located on the site of the distillery. Located in the rural village of Tomnavoulin, at the foot of the Cairngorm mountain range in Scotland, the distillery was built on the River Livet, in 1966 as one of the newest distilleries during a period of many openings in the Speyside region. Only 30 years later, in early 1995, production was halted. The distillery resumed production after a major refurbishment in 2007, producing a whisky, which is characterized by its soft and creamy qualities.
The distillery is owned by the giant Emperador Inc, since in 2014 it acquired Whyte & Mackay, the company that manages the Dalmore, Fettercairn, Jura distilleries, together with the Invergordon cereal distillery, and produces whisky Scottish blended Whyte & Mackay.
