The Whistler Calvados Cask Finish is one of the unique labels of The Whistler brand, that is a line of bottles made up of selected and joined barrels from the Boann distillery, a recently built Irish distillery. Still having little stock to manage, Boann has preferred not to market bottles with his own name, preferring for now to devote himself to the selection and marketing of barrels from other Irish distilleries, adding his own touch, also to give a small preview of how it will be. The whiskey by Boann.
In this case, with The Whistler Calvados Cask Finish the blend is 35% single malt and 65% whiskey of wheat, with the added feature of a small period of final aging in oak barrels that previously contained Calvados. This final refinement, also called finish, serves to impress some peculiar notes on the whiskey in question, making it one of a kind and waiting to be discovered.
TASTE: Intense, with sweet notes of dried fruit and vanilla, cereals and wood spices
AGING: American oak barrels ex Bourbon and barrels ex Calvados.
