Tomintoul
Tomintoul distillery is located in the heart of the Speyside region, near the village of Tomintoul at the gates of the Cairngorm National Park, on the Glenlivet estate, with a unique landscape, rich in flora and fauna specific to the region, many of which species endangered, are protected here; this natural environment, as well as the fresh and pure air, contribute to making the whisky by Tomintoul. The Tomintoul distillery was built in 1964, its products are made with natural ingredients, the pure water that is used comes from the Ballantruan spring.
Distillery Manager Robert Fleming, in the Speyside Glenlivet region for four generations, started working in the distillery industry whisky since 1974 and with Tomintoul for about 20 years, he is responsible for all aspects of production. Most of the barrels used are ex bourbon American oak, ex sherry and ex port European oak casks are also used.
The Tomintoul distillery was recently awarded in the World Whiskeys Awards 2021 for the best Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky aged between 13 and 20, winner of the Tomintoul 16 years.
