Writer's Tears Copper Pot is not the classic whiskey Irish but a precise idea that now belongs to the most ancient tradition of distillation, the Irish being its first standard bearers and - but don't tell the Scots - probably the first to distill in Europe thanks to the monks who returned home after the Crusader wars. This Writer's Tears Copper Pot is a union of whiskey Irish three times distilled, one part malted barley and one part unmalted barley. The alembic used is the canonical pot still that has given so many joys to Ireland and to those who love balanced products that are never over the top, of elegance and finesse.

The Writer's Tears brand is part of the Walsh family group engaged in this operation since 1999 which deals with the production and marketing of various Irish brands whiskey, with an eye to tradition. This Writer's Tears Copper Pot is aged in ex bourbon oak barrels and has no age statement.
