Whisky Writer's Tears Red Head
700ml BOTTLE
Writer's Tears Red Head is a whiskey Irish selection of Writer's Tears, or the brand owned by the Walsh family responsible since 1999 for various releases of whiskey Irish, distilled at the Midleton distillery but with the family brand on the label.
Writer's Tears represents constant research in terms of quality especially as regards the aging in wood, thanks also to the international connections that the family has with other manufacturing companies: an example of this is this Red Head which sees the entire aging entrusted to barrels of Spanish Oloroso sherry, hand-selected casks in Spain and then shipped to Ireland to do the job of aging the whiskey. The name Red Head serves as a playful counterpoint to the many Irish "red hairs" and a link to the red color of Sherry.
TASTE: Dense and vinous, spices and dried fruit, figs and dates, raisins and bitter cocoa.
AGING: European oak barrels ex Sherry Oloroso.
