Whisky Ardbeg An Oa
700ml BOTTLE
Ardbeg An Oa single malt whisky is inspired by the wildest and most remote part of the Scottish island of Islay and celebrates the indomitable nature of its homeland with contrasts of strong intensity and sweet softness that pay homage to the place where the storm calms down. In its depths, different components of whisky scottish mix harmoniously: the richness of the whisky matured in Pedro Ximénez barrels, the spiciness of a part aged in toasted virgin oak and the conservation of the base in ex Bourbon barrels. United by Ardbeg's alchemy, the union of the three whisky produces a single malt Scotch whisky much more complex and rounded.
TASTE
Strong aromas of peat, smoked, dark chocolate and black tea.AGING
American ex Bourbon barrels and ex European Sherry barrels and in toasted virgin oak barrels.INSIGHT ON WHISKEY ARDBEG AN OA
Ardbeg has always been born as a distillery dedicated to maintaining the DNA of the whisky of Islay, that is whisky in which peat and the maritime component - mandatory since Islay is a small island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean - are the main ingredients. Ardbeg has no intention of denying itself and is always looking for methods to perfect its modus operandi, in order to have an increasingly pure and increasingly identifying distillate of its place of origin. The beauty that surrounds the production plant - recently expanded with considerable economic effort - gives the sensation of an uncontaminated landscape in which man can and must disturb as little as possible, with slow and respectful processing, avoiding contaminating the environment but rather making an effort to keep a low profile during the production phase. The whisky refines for many years in the silent and spacious warehouses of the Company, one of the most respected distilleries in the world and which has managed to build a solid fan base all over the world, collecting the acclaim of awards and journalists.
Ardbeg An Oa is slightly different to the others whisky that make up the core range of Ardbeg, involving refinement in three types of barrels, including the freshly toasted virgin oak barrel which gives notes that can sometimes give an excessive character to the whisky and which therefore must be kept at bay, or rather carefully selected and mixed carefully to give balance to the final result. The technicians at Ardbeg have boundless knowledge in this sort of thing and this Ardbeg An Oa is not just an experiment but a demonstration of the technical mastery of this distillery.
Ardbeg has been repeating itself for two hundred years, carrying on a tradition with perseverance and commitment, with a core range made up of bottles that have few rivals on the face of the earth: seeing is believing, perhaps starting with this very Ardbeg An Oa.
