Whisky Ardmore 1999 Gordon & Macphail

700ml BOTTLE

The Ardmore distillery has been alive since the end of the 1800s, when the Teacher family decided to found a distillery in the Highlands, the most important area in terms of geographical dimension when it comes to Scotland. As often happens when speaking of little-known distilleries, most of the product does not reach the public but is sold to companies that produce blended whisky, leaving little chance to sample and taste the fruit of these distilleries, Ardmore being no doubt among them. Another centuries-old story is that of Gordon & MacPhail, an independent bottler active since 1895 and responsible for thousands of different labels, establishing itself all over the world with careful selections and undoubted elegance.

This label is particular because for many decades it was the only possibility to taste the whisky of Ardmore and has become a sort of official bottling. Today the companies have decided to keep the same label as a tribute to times gone by: the whisky content rests 18 years in ex Sherry casks, i.e. that have previously contained Spanish Sherry.

TASTE: Soft and full, with spicy and smoky nuances, with notes of leather and ripe fruit and tobacco. Long spicy train.

AGING: European oak barrels ex Sherry.
