Whisky Ardnamurchan AD / 04.21 Paul Launois Release
BOTTLE NOT CARTONED 700ml
Ardnamurchan AD/04.21 Paul Launois Release is not a whisky like many others but a practically unique experiment, as can be assumed from a recent and always attentive to experimentation distillery such as Ardnamurchan. Paul Launois is none other than a champagne producer, a family Maison based in Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Cote de Blancs, the realm of chardonnay and of the broadest champagnes in terms of perfumes and elegance. Ardnamurchan did not miss the opportunity to test this type of barrel as well and decided to refine its own for a final period whisky in these barrels, to try to make a greater contribution in terms of vinosity to the whisky final.
Ardnamurchan is a rather young distillery, having been founded in 2013 by Jamie Walker, direct descendant of that famous Archibald Walker who founded several distilleries now two centuries ago: the distillery is quite small having only two stills and often engages in peculiar experiments, including which this aging in champagne barrels.
TASTE: Dense and important, citrus and saline notes, spices and yellow fruit, citrus
AGING: American ex Bourbon oak barrels and French oak barrels of the Champagne producer Paul Launois, in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
