Arran 25 Year Old is the absolute first whisky of 25 to be produced by Arran and the whisky of Arran oldest in commerce. The motivation? Simply because Arran has been around since 1995, hence this whisky it was distilled in mid-1995 and represents some of the more aged stock available in the distillery warehouses. The choice to date this Arran 25 Year Old is a celebration of the first milestone birthday – the quarter century – even if in the world of whisky this means that the distillery of origin is quite young. Despite his young age, thanks also to the personalities involved, Arran has been able to build a solid reputation with a series of high quality products with various unique characteristics, from the refinement to the choice of selecting some barrels to make particular releases, like this one.
Arran 25 Year Old is obtained with a mix of 65% ex Bourbon barrels and the remaining 35% ex Sherry barrels, symbolizing the marriage between these two styles of aging. Strictly in a limited edition of only 3000 pieces, to make the experience even more exclusive.
TASTE: Intense and spicy, white pepper and camphor, then bitter cocoa and dried fruit, with wide fruity variations.
AGING: American oak ex Bourbon barrels and European oak ex Sherry barrels.
