Arran Amarone Cask Finish is a whisky unique of its kind for the peculiar refinement that the distillery has decided to offer. The Arran distillery is located on the island of the same name in Scotland and since 1992 has managed to create a well-deserved reputation for the increasingly high quality of each product offered by the company. In addition to the baseline with i whisky proposed with ever increasing refinements, James MacTaggart - the master distiller - has seen fit to propose some experiments using particular refinements: this Arran Amarone Cask Finish spends eight years of refinement in traditional ex bourbon casks before further refining in casks that previously contained Italian red wine Amarone della Valpolicella, giving way to exploit the peculiarities of this great wine to add complexity to the whisky.

Arran Amarone Cask Finish starts from Arran's premise of proposing some experiments, both to test the internal ability to select only the best barrels, and for the sake of the challenge of pairing a Scottish distillate with an Italian red wine, and not just any wine, as the king of intense, full-bodied and long-lived wines of Italy, one of the excellences that the rest of the world envies us and imports in large quantities. Approaching a similar barrel is complex precisely because of the tendency to release too many notes to the distillate contained, if this step is managed with little attention, without constantly monitoring what is happening inside the barrel. This tasting phase reveals the secrets of this marriage, a marriage that Arran has been carrying forward since the beginning of its history and which never ceases to give satisfaction even to those who remain skeptical in the face of these experiments. A journey as unique as it is satisfying.
