Whisky Bunnahabhain 11 Year Old Gordon & Macphail
700ml BOTTLE
The story of Bunnahabhain is lost in the mists of distillation times: the Scottish distillery is located in one of the most beautiful bays in the world and therefore guarantees the positive contribution of the sea, as well as being in a remote place and which, at the time guaranteed maximum privacy. Few government officials could find the distillery to collect taxes on the distillation, which is why Bunnahabhain malt has always remained slightly out of focus - commercially - compared to the large distilleries on the south coast of Islay. The beauty and the enchanted atmosphere are two fundamental ingredients of the whisky of this distillery, mostly responsible for whisky do not peat. Today we are faced with a particular bottle that comes from Bunnahabhain but comes to life thanks to Gordon & MacPhail, one of the most important independent Scottish bottlers, with a long and glorious history.
The Discovery series allows you to get to know and deepen most of the Scottish distilleries with products that are not extreme but well centered on the unique characteristics of each distillery. For this bottle Gordon & MacPhail decided to refine the whisky for eleven years in ex Sherry casks, i.e. that previously contained Spanish sherry. An encouragement to visit, even if only metaphorically, this rare pearl.
TASTE: Wide and elegant, with ripe fruit and dried fruit, with an unmistakable spicy touch of white pepper and cinnamon.
AGING: European oak barrels ex Sherry.
