Limited edition from a distillery operating in Brora, on the Sutherland coast. Clynelish Select Reserve is the first Special Release Natural Cask Strength ever made. The barrels used are of American oak ex Bourbon and European oak ex Sherry refill. The barrels are selected one by one by Master Blender Dr. Jim Beveridge from barrels aged 15 years or more.
TASTE: A whisky complex: starts with a softness and a creamy note with hints of ripe fruit and sweet butter biscuits to finish in a warm and silky, dry and spicy rush. It evokes confidence and pleasantness, almost a malt from other times. A touch of peat and ripe fruit on the finish, complex but simple at the same time. A whisky very stylish. Long and sustained finish.
AGING: American oak ex Bourbon and European oak ex Sherry.
