Whisky Crabbie's Yardhead
BOTTLE NOT CARTONED 700ml
The story of this whisky it is peculiar and represents a long and tortuous path, but with great satisfactions. Let's start from the origins: Mille Crabbie founded the John Crabbie company in 1801 with the intention of marketing and distributing alcoholic beverages. The part relating to whisky was present, being an Edinburgh firm, and Crabbie had several local suppliers to cope with the demand. John Crabbie was also a member of the North British Distilling consortium and the brand continued in business until about 1970. In this period the whisky it contracted and many companies and distilleries had to close their doors. The company changed various properties, until the return to the brand's business was announced in 2018, starting however from a real distillery which was built in the city of Leith and which led to the filling of the first barrels in December of 2018.
To promote this new opening, Crabbie has released several whisky sourced from other distilleries, including this Crabbie's Yardhead: a whisky without age statement that can also be beautifully approached in mixing.
TASTE: Full and balsamic, traces of mint and notes of ripe fruit, apple and lemon.
