CARTONED BOTTLE 700 ml
That the whisky face sing is known above all in Scotland and Ireland, especially if the friendship between the people involved is involved: this is the case of this Edradour coming from the selection of two friends, Andrew Symington (owner of the Edradour distillery) and Dougie MacLean, Scottish singer-songwriter rather well known in his homeland. To seal the union between whisky and music, Andrew and Dougie decided to select a few barrels of whisky and release it as a special edition.
The name "Caledonia" is in fact a quotation from a well-known passage by Andrew from 1978, having as its object, the Latin name that the Romans gave to the land that today corresponds to Scotland. The song tells of Dougie's nostalgia for his homeland, making him want to share a whisky like the one he selected.
Edradour is a Scottish distillery founded in 1837 and for many years remained muted, having changed many owners and remaining in a limited production dimension.
This 12 years spends just over half of its life in ex Bourbon oak barrels before four or five years in ex Oloroso sherry barrels. A reference to the tradition still in force at Edradour.
TASTE: Consistent with the nose, spicy notes of cocoa and coffee, dried fruit and ripe fruit, complex and with effective spices to make it prolonged and intense.
AGING: American oak barrels ex Bourbon and European oak barrels ex Sherry Oloroso.
