Whisky Glenglassaugh Revival
700ml BOTTLE
Glenglassaugh Revival is not a whisky like all the others but it is the symbol of the rebirth of the Glenglassaugh distillery, closed in 1986 during the period nicknamed "Whisky Lock" and reopened by the Billy Walker group in 2008. The period of Whisky Lock has been characterized by little attention to the world of whisky forcing many distilleries to close and many of which have not been reopened or have even been demolished. In this case however, thanks to the foresight of the Billy Walker group, Glenglassaugh was given a second chance and since 2008 the stills of the distillery have been operational again.
Glenglassaugh Revival is the whisky of the rebirth because it is the first release of the core range with only inside whisky produced after 2008: the refinement takes place in a mix of ex Bourbon oak barrels and ex red wine, with a final passage in ex Sherry barrels, just to give way to appreciate all the possible nuances of the distillate. The slightly higher alcohol content than usual completes the magic.
TASTE: Round and intense, dried fruit, cherries in alcohol and bitter cocoa.
AGING: Ex red wine oak barrels, ex Bourbon American oak barrels and ex Sherry oak barrels.
