Whisky Glenglassaugh Torfa
700ml BOTTLE
Glenglassaugh Torfa is a whisky the only product from Glenglassaugh with the particularity of having a peated malt as the raw material of distillation, unlike the other expressions of this distillery. Glenglassaugh is a distillery in the Scottish Highlands with a difficult period now over, having been closed from 1986 to 2008, when the Billy Walker company decided to take over the reins of the property and return to distilling.
After coming out with some expressions from the old warehouses, Glenglassaugh released the first three official bottlings: Revival, Evolution and finally his own peaty version of this Highland malt. The peat is rather light reaching 20 Parts Per Million: the distillery's choice was therefore to give only a nuance and not a peat monster, preferring to work the ex Bourbon oak barrels and maintaining an above average alcohol content.
TASTE: Strong and lively with smoky and toasted notes, combined with fruit and caramel.
AGING: American ex Bourbon oak barrels.
