Whisky Glengoyne Cask Strength Limited Batch No. 8
700ml BOTTLE
The Glengoyne distillery is known worldwide for the quality and elegance of its distillates, thanks to a very careful distillation control that is longer than the average of Scottish distilleries. We are located in the Highlands, a plateau that rises a few kilometers from the city of Glasgow and continues north to the ocean. Glengoyne is located a few kilometers from the large town, but the geographical distance, even if limited, completely distorts the surrounding environment, with the typical Scottish countryside whipped by the wind and the green hills interrupted by rivers of pure water.
The distillery has been operational since 1830 and since 2003 it has been part of the Ian MacLeod group, important notes in the history of whisky Scottish: the operations have not changed in the production process and Glengoyne often makes use of the oak casks that previously contained Spanish Sherry, a distant but still strong legacy for the whisky traditional. The bottle on the side is an example of how Glengoyne's class can emerge in any situation, thanks also to the full degree, i.e. the bottling without adding water, maintaining a high alcohol percentage. Our advice is to try Glengoyne at full strength and then slowly add a few drops of water to enjoy all the nuances of this whisky.
TASTE: Dense and juicy with ripe fruit, caramel and honey, dried fruit and a dense spiciness that continues in the long finish.
AGING: European ex Sherry oak barrels, refill barrels and American ex Bourbon oak barrels.
