Whisky Highland Park 16 Year Old Twisted Tattoo
700ml BOTTLE
Highland Park produces this 16 year old using for the first time barrels that have contained Spanish Rioja wine, which welcome most of the whisky, while the rest is left to age in ex Bourbon barrels; Rioja wine barrels develop a deep richness in the whisky, while the ex Bourbon barrels offer notes of vanilla and fresh fruit. In September 2018 the barrels are combined, filtered at 4°C, and then bottled whisky with an alcohol content of 46.7% vol.
TASTE: Sweetness of vanilla combined with sun-ripened peaches, red summer berries, full-bodied red wine; all gathered under a light peat rich in heather.
AGING: First-fill ex Bourbon oak barrels and barrels that contained Rioja wine.
