Ian MacLeod Distillers
Ian Macleod Distillers was founded in 1933, at Broxburn, by Leonard J. Russel, lover of Whisky, which initially selected barrels from different companies choosing only the one it deemed most suitable. Over the years it has established itself as an independent bottler by acquiring distilleries such as Glengoyne, Tamdhu, and brands such as Isle of Skye. In its more than 80-year history it has also developed a series of labels, such as the Smokehead, which is a whisky Islay peat.
Today the company is among the ten largest in the world as a producer of whiskyin fact, it currently produces over 15 million bottles every year.
