Whisky Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost And Rare Port Ellen
700ml BOTTLE
The key to this Johnnie Walker Blue Label is the most famous Single Malt distillery on the island of Islay: Port Ellen, whose distillery was closed in 1983. Created by Master Blended Jim Beveridge in small batches, it uses 8 whisky including 5 incredible "rare malts" and 3 whisky from closed distilleries. I grain whisky Caledonian and Carsebridge add sweet notes of cream and vanilla, while rare malts such as Dailuaine, Mortlach, Blair Athol and Oban add notes of citrus, malt and tropical fruits, but also great complexity and structure, creating a great balance with the Port Ellen which brings notes of peat and sea.
TASTE: Soft and salty; after a slightly sweet start, a smoky heat fills the palate, then notes of brown sugar that anticipate the softness of red fruit and licorice in the finish, which is elegant and spicy, captivating and perfectly balanced.
AGING: American oak barrels ex Bourbon and European barrels ex Sherry.
