Lagavulin: the name is enough to evoke one of the best Scottish distilleries, responsible for whisky impeccable able to excite palates from all over the world, with its class and its inimitable character. We are located in Scotland on the island of Islay, precisely on the south coast, the homeland of whisky peated, and Lagavulin represents the quintessence of these characteristics, thanks to a history of distillation that has continued since 1816. Peat is certainly one of the fundamental ingredients of this distillate, as is the island and maritime character that gives importance and nobility to the distillate.
The flag of the distillery is this 16 year old, one of whisky with the most astounding value for money on the market: the long aging smooths out the edges of the naked distillate and gives great complexity to the glass, a real olfactory and gustatory pleasure. The distillery prefers aging in ex Bourbon barrels, stored in warehouses a short distance from the sea, adding spicy and iodized notes to the whisky the final. Lagavulin 16 Year Old represents a whisky essential to know Islay and its wonderful fruits.

TASTE
Evident peat, smoky and bacon notes, dried fruit and small red fruits, before the spicy part takes over, black pepper and iodine. Structure of great importance, the gradation is perfect as well as the great elegance shown. Long and smoky finish, fully satisfying.

Lagavulin 16 Year Old is almost perfect in every detail, giving on the one hand the robust angularity that is typical of the island of Islay and its whisky peaty, marine and spicy, and on the other the length of the sip, the irresistible gustatory breadth and the final enveloping that are typical only of great whisky, whisky destined to enchant and last over time, as has been the case for over two centuries.
