Whisky Lagavulin The Distillers Edition 2019
700ml BOTTLE
The most powerful Single Malt on the island of Islay could only use a barrel of Pedro Ximenez: a Sherry with a great aromatic structure, thanks to its double aging. The result is an intense, unique, highly prestigious malt. Rich in peat, medicinal but with the distinctive trait of the wood that contained the Sherry.
TASTE: Complex on the nose where the notes of smoke blend with the sweet and creamy notes of Sherry. It is medicinal but sweet, intense and of great structure. The initial taste immediately gives way to peat. A spicy trace interrupts the first sensation and releases coffee and vanilla, with a hint of fruit. The finish is incredibly long. Fruit, peat and oak persist.
AGING: American oak barrels and a second (or "double") maturation in a barrel that previously contained Pedro Ximenez.

Limited edition number of bottles | Distillers Editions are Single Malts that undergo a particular maturation process. Each of them, after having spent the normal period of aging in American oak barrels, undergoes a second (or "double") aging in a barrel that previously contained a fortified wine. The duration of this second maturation depends on the moment in which the aroma of the distillate is perfectly developed; generally between 6 and 12 months. |
