Whisky Linkwood 1983 Private Collection Gordon & Macphail
700ml BOTTLE
A privilege: it is certainly not normal to approach a whisky 35 years of age, especially if selected by Gordon & MacPhail to best represent the ability to find and bottle barrels of the highest quality, as in this case. The Private Collection series of the well-known Scottish bottler from Elgin, in the north-east of Scotland, represents one of the highest points of the incessant work of research and maniacal care in the refinement phase of the daily work of a company that has now abundantly passed the century of history.
From its inception in 1895 to today, Gordon & MacPhail has managed to gain the respect and love of fans around the globe, thanks to the patient waiting behind every release, especially when it comes to whisky honed for many years. Linkwood is an excellent Scottish distillery, but which in the past - and partly even today - delivers most of its production to blended bottlers whisky, making it difficult to prove an official expression: the job of the independent bottler consists in finding and making known these minor distilleries for media exposure but certainly not for quality. A legendary bottle with 35 years of aging in barrels: a whisky exceptional only for demanding palates. One of 168 bottles.
TASTE: Intense and of great tension, with citrus and spicy notes to introduce a whisky full, dense and refined at the highest level.
AGING: American oak refill barrels Hogshead.
