700ml BOTTLE
Loch Lomond is a distillery in the Scottish Highlands with a particular feature: in the years since its foundation, dating back to 1964, the different properties have increased the number of internal distillers, creating a unique variety, responsible for different productions, i.e. whisky of wheat and whisky of barley. For over twenty years the Loch Lomond distillery has been involved in producing and marketing products under its own name, with the deer in plain sight as a corporate symbol.
This Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Inchmoan is the first release of whisky of wheat with an important peat, equal to about 50 parts per million (ppm), or the same peat of distilleries symbol of the whisky Scottish peaty such as Ardbeg and Lagavulin. Compared to the latter, Loch Lomond 12 Years Old Inchmoan has the particularity of having a land character, being the distillery located inland, and not overlooking the sea. The 12-year refinement takes place in oak barrels that have previously contained Bourbon, some of which are rejuvenated and re-toasted with the procedure used to renew the barrels of whisky.
TASTE: The peat is present accompanied by an interesting spiciness of black pepper and cinnamon. Signs of yellow fruit and honey, custard and a smoky sensation that pervades the palate for several minutes.
AGING: American oak refill barrels, ex Bourbon barrels and charred barrels.
