700ml BOTTLE
Loch Lomond was founded in 1965 and produced continuously for twenty years until 1984, when the severe crisis of the scotch whisky blocked several distilleries, including Loch Lomond. After about a decade Loch Lomond resumed distilling and started with whisky of wheat, easier to sell for blended whisky. After a few years of managing this system, the distillery started again with the whisky of barley, producing a wide range of products also by virtue of the high number of different stills that Loch Lomond owns: this fleet of machines allows the distillery to produce 5 million liters of whisky of barley and about 20 of whisky of wheat, a truly impressive number.
The Loch Lomond distillery is presenting a range of products suitable for the most demanding palates and, by virtue of a particular care in the distillation technique, the whisky which are produced by the distillery have a particularly gentle and elegant character, so as to be able to satisfy the palate for a wide range of time.
This Loch Lomond 12 Year Old tells the story of a distillery committed to packaging products with a moderate aging, thanks to the painstaking care in the distillation phase and in the selection of the barrels that will complete the blend.
TASTE: Intense, notes of butter and honey blend with enveloping notes of spices and yellow fruit, in a balanced palate. The higher gradation than usual allows for greater vigor.
AGING: American oak refill barrels, ex Bourbon barrels and charred barrels.
