Lochlea is a new independent distillery located in Ayrshire in Scotland; after its opening John Campbell, former manager of Laphroaig and currently Production Director at Lochlea, starts a series of limited edition small batch seasonal bottlings, including Sowing Edition First Crop. Sowing Edition is the second expression of the distillery and represents the barley sowing period that occurs during the spring.
Il whisky it was matured for 3 years exclusively in first-fill ex Bourbon barrels, to then be bottled at the alcohol content of 48% vol without cold filtration or the addition of colourings.
TASTE: Intense with slightly citrus hints, fruit combined with buttery malt and a hint of dried fruit. In the end, sweetness becomes the protagonist.
AGING: First-fill American oak ex Bourbon barrels.
