Macduff 18 Year Old The Old Malt Cask Hunter Laing
700ml BOTTLE
Macduff 18 Year Old The Old Malt Cask Hunter Laing is a whisky Scotch single malt produced at the Macduff distillery and subsequently selected by Hunter Laing, a thoroughbred independent bottler and son of art, coming from the Douglas Laing family. The role of independent bottlers is important because these companies provide a unique point of view on the whisky, selecting barrels (often single) from not very well-known distilleries and often with different refinements from the classic malts of the distilleries. In this case the choice fell on a single barrel - number HL 11785 - that is, a hogshead refill which contained the whisky from April 1997 until August 2015. Macduff is a small distillery in the Highlands area founded in 1960 with a capacity of 2.4 million liters of alcohol per year and today owned by the Bacardi group which often uses malt Macduff to give structure to the various blended products in the Bacardi/Dewars portfolio. This bottle is a splendid opportunity to taste a not-so-well-known malt with significant refinement.
