INSIGHT ON WHISKEY MONKEY SHOULDER SMOKEY MONKEY

Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey is the peaty and gently smoked little brother of the large Monkey Shoulder family, one of the most respected blended brands scotch whisky of the whole of Scotland. Being able to count on "shoulders" that are much more than broad, Monkey Shoulder has seen fit to expand the family and also include a whisky with a delicate peat to give three-dimensionality to the organoleptic apparatus.

Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey is proposed by the William Grant & Sons group, one of the most important companies in the world of whisky Scottish and global, responsible for the production of giants such as Glenfiddich, Balvenie and the smaller but distinctive Kininvie and Ailsa Bay.

Having to deal with distillates of this caliber, William Grant & Sons has seen fit to join forces and give life to a common project, dedicating it to the barley men, the Malt Men who - after decades of work in the fields turning the sheaves and the earth - were found to have asymmetrical shoulders and were defined as "monkey shoulders". Having to honor these pioneers, now replaced by agricultural technology, William Grant & Sons wanted to pay homage with a dedicated line of blended whisky: these are not the classics whisky blended constructed with a predominant part of whisky of wheat and a light touch of whisky of barley but a complete one whisky of malted barley, combined and assembled by the expert hands of the technicians of the group's distilleries.

The peaty touch adds complexity to a blended malt which is perfectly inserted into various cocktails and which has been designed to enhance the purity of the whisky in mixing, starting from solid Speyside malts, among the best representatives of this area of the whisky Scottish. Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey is also a nice surprise to taste alone or with some ice cubes on summer evenings.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey is a whisky Scottish, the result of the union of three decidedly relevant production forces, namely the three distilleries of the William Grant & Sons group. William Grant was one of the founding fathers of the movement whisky Scottish, responsible both for the opening of various distilleries and for the worldwide export of its brands, giving each a precise identity with which to tell the drinker a story, a fascinating story with distant traditions. This Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey is not just any blended, but first of all it belongs to the Monkey Shoulder range, dedicated to malt workers who - after decades of physically moving barrels and bags of cereals - found themselves having a much larger shoulder of the other.

Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey has the peculiarity of peat, of the smoky note that is delivered during the malting phase with peat smoking, a typical characteristic of a strong style of whisky which Speyside distilleries - including the three gathered here - often no longer possess, or which they only rarely exploit. The recipe for Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey is studied batch by batch and is developed by Brian Kinsman, the malt master of the William Grant & Sons group. A seal of guarantee for a whisky evolved and multifaceted.
