Whisky Old Ballantruan Smokey Original
700ml BOTTLE
Old Ballantruan Smokey Original is a whisky on the market for several years and worthy of attention for several years: Old Ballantruan is not a real distillery but is the name under which the whisky peats produced at the Tomintoul distillery in Scotland, in Speyside. Tomintoul was founded in 1964 and for the first few years production was almost completely diverted towards blended malts, giving structure and body to various blended malt brands, particularly appreciated overseas, in the United States. Since 2000 the property has been owned by Angus Dundee and this group has retained the whisky of Tomintoul worthy of attention, therefore starting to propose whisky single malt and, since 2005, to give life to the Old Ballantruan project, with whisky medium peaty but radically opposite to the classics whisky peats known until then, i.e. coming from the island of Islay or the Islands. Today Old Ballantruan has several peaty "colleagues" from Speyside, all to add depth of analysis to an area - Speyside - of great interest and with decidedly important names battling it out. We have no doubt that this Old Ballantruan Smokey Original can make its own contribution to anyone's alcoholic library.
