Premier Barrel Caol Ila 10 Year Old is a whisky Scotch from the remote island of Islay, where the Caol Ila distillery has been dispensing peated malt and aged alongside the sea for decades. Caol Ila is the largest distillery on the island of Islay and supplies several blends of the Diageo group (of which it is part) and at the same time has developed an extensive relationship with various independent bottlers, managing to also propose versions different from the classic canons of the whisky of Caol Ila. Douglas Laing entered the game a few decades ago as an independent bottler, that is, a company that has strong connections with various distilleries from which it can purchase a few barrels every year, barrels that are kept in its own warehouses and selected for special, unique bottlings. In this case, Premier Barrel Caol Ila 10 Year Old is a bottle out of the four hundred released from a single barrel of Caol Ila aged for over ten years and belonging to the Premier Barrel series, a flagship for the production of Douglas Laing and also of Caol Ila. Douglas Laing's quality certificate is a certainty in terms of organoleptic pleasure.
