Rosebank is one of the Scottish distilleries that became legendary after its closure in 1993. We are in the Lowlands area and Rosebank has always been recognized for its undisputedly elegant malt, the result of stubborn tenacity and distillation practices perfected over centuries of work . Rosebank Distillery was founded in 1840 by James Rankine and soon the whisky of the distillery became popular for creating large blends, as was the custom at the time. During the 1900s Rosebank was considered the queen distillery of the Lowlands, thanks to the triple distillation and floral notes, which remain a trademark of all whisky that come out of here.
In 1993, due to the continuing crisis of the scotch whisky, Rosebank was closed and since then its barrels have been sought after by traders from all over the globe, until in 2017 Ian MacLeod decided to revive the ancient glories and put the distillery back into action. The bottle in question therefore belongs to the previous phase and was put on the market precisely to underline the continuity of style between the old management and the new management: a mix of barrels aged at least 30 years in ex Bourbon and ex Sherry barrels, for a unique and of absolute level.
