The Angostura company was founded at the end of the 800th century and mostly produced products from officinal and aromatic herbs, the famous Bitter or historically called "Aromatic Amargo". From a secret recipe, kept nowadays in the New York bank, these bitters were used as a cure for some diseases and then were introduced in the preparation of drinks and also in typical dishes of the Caribbean areas. The production of the rums of the Angostura company then takes place under the control of the Master Blender John Georges.
An exceptionally prominent rum of the company is Rum Angostura 1919, which was discovered after a huge fire in 1932 in now charred barrels. For several years the Angostura company managed to make known this product which unfortunately is no longer on the market today, but in exchange the company has produced a new Angostura 1919 rum. The Angostura 1919 Rum is a blend of rum aged in barrels of American oak charred and placed to rest in this favorable climate that Trinidad and Tobago have. An award-winning rum that celebrates the great history and tradition of Caribbean rums.
